Renewable Energy
Done Properly
We started Heat Smart because the renewable energy industry had a reputation problem — pushy salespeople, confusing contracts, and installations that underdelivered on their promised savings. We built the company we wished existed.

Built on a Belief That Green Energy Shouldn't Be Complicated
Heat Smart was built by engineers who spent years working inside the utility sector and saw first-hand how homeowners were being sold solar systems that didn't perform as promised — oversized panels on north-facing roofs, undersized batteries, grants that were never applied for.
We founded Heat Smart on a single principle: give every customer the same advice you'd give your own family. That means honest site surveys, accurate savings projections, and installations that are still performing at specification a decade later.
Today our team of MCS-certified engineers serves homeowners across England and Wales, with specialist divisions for solar, battery storage, heat pumps, and EV chargers — all under one roof, all on one guarantee.

Our Four Core Values
Every decision we make — from which brands we stock to how we handle a complaint — comes back to these four commitments.
No Hard Sell. Ever.
We give honest assessments. If solar or a heat pump isn't right for your home, we'll tell you — and explain why. Our reputation matters more than any single sale.
We Handle the Paperwork
Grant applications, DNO notifications, MCS certificates, building regulations — we manage everything from survey to sign-off so you can focus on the savings.
Installations That Last
Our 10-year workmanship guarantee backs every installation. We use premium components, proper cable management, and never cut corners on weatherproofing.
Genuinely Green
We only install from manufacturers with verified supply chains and transparent carbon footprint data. We offset our own install vehicle emissions too.
6 Certifications That Protect You
Accreditations aren't just badges — each one unlocks specific consumer protections, grant eligibility, and legal rights. Here's exactly what each one means for you.
Microgeneration Certification Scheme
The UK's mandatory quality standard for solar and heat pump installations. Without MCS, you cannot claim the £7,500 BUS grant, the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), or use a certified installer.
Government-Endorsed Quality Scheme
The only government-endorsed quality scheme for home improvements in the UK. TrustMark registered tradespeople are vetted for technical competence, trading practices, and customer service.
Renewable Energy Consumer Code
A consumer protection code specifically for renewable energy. RECC members must provide clear contracts, accurate savings projections, and a 10-day cooling-off period after signing.
Home Insulation & Energy Systems
Provides deposit protection insurance up to £2,500 on your installation payment. If a HIES member company ceases trading before completing your installation, your money is covered.
Gas Safe Register
The legal register of engineers qualified to work on gas appliances in the UK. It is a criminal offence for an unregistered engineer to carry out gas work. Every Heat Smart engineer who works on gas-connected systems is on the register.
National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting
The UK's leading electrical contracting certification body. NICEIC approval means all our electrical work — consumer units, inverter wiring, EV charger circuits — is assessed, inspected, and certified to BS 7671.
England & Wales Only
We operate exclusively across England and Wales — it's a deliberate choice. Focusing on one region means our engineers know local council planning requirements, DNO connection rules, and grid constraints better than any national competitor.

All counties, including Greater London
✅ Wales
All counties, bilingual support available
❌ Scotland
Different grant schemes apply — we don't operate here
